Welcome to Dr. Joe Bentivegna’s Views

Dr. Bentivegna is an ophthalmologist in private practice. As a young man, he was a volunteer physician in Haiti for the Missionaries of Charity (the order of Mother Teresa). He is a syndicated columnist writing on medicine, politics and his beloved Steelers. He ran for the United States Senate in 1994 and Congress in 2014. He has written four books: The Neglected and Abused: A Physician’s Year in Haiti, When to Refuse Treatment, The Lords of Greenwich and Respect. He has two grown daughters, two granddaughters and lives in Fairfield, Connecticut with his wife Louise.
